The Story Behind Teddy Jo
Teddy Jo is named after two of the women who first shaped my creative life: my grandmothers, Theodora (Teddy) and Joanne (Jo).
From them I inherited an abiding love of vintage and antique items, of art, and of things made slowly and by hand. They introduced me to the quiet discipline of cross-stitch and embroidery, to fine art and craft, and to the idea that care and intention can transform even the smallest object.
These traditions have long been dismissed as "women's work." I see them as an inheritance: a rich history of artistry and skill passed from one generation of hands to the next. Teddy Jo exists to honor that lineage and to encourage other women to reclaim these arts, and the stories woven into them, as their own.
This space is a curated collection of the things I cherish: vintage decor, original art, thrifted finds, found and well-loved ephemera, and heirlooms with a history. I'll also be sharing plenty of lighthearted, just-for-fun content along the way.
The story behind an object can be every bit as beautiful as the object itself.
Welcome to Teddy Jo. 🤍
